What is Manual Lymphatic Drainage?

Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a gentle, specialized massage technique designed to support the natural flow of lymph throughout the body. The lymphatic system plays an important role in maintaining fluid balance and supporting immune function by helping transport excess fluid and cellular waste from the tissues. Using slow, rhythmic, and carefully directed movements, this technique encourages lymph fluid to move toward the lymph nodes, where it can be processed by the body.

Unlike traditional massage, Manual Lymphatic Drainage uses very light pressure to work with the superficial lymphatic vessels just beneath the skin. It may help reduce swelling and fluid retention, relieve feelings of heaviness or tightness, and promote a sense of comfort and relaxation. MLD can be especially beneficial for individuals experiencing certain types of swelling, including lymphedema or post-surgical edema, when appropriate and medically cleared. Each session is tailored to your individual needs, offering a gentle, restorative approach to supporting fluid movement and overall well-being.
